A finger-style guitarist, Rose’s devotion to the guitar started from a young age and now spans over two decades of dedicated practice. Well-established on Melbourne's music scene, Rose performs regularly as a soloist and collaborator, showcasing her diverse music influences and virtuosic guitar technique as she traverses Latin music to classical guitar styles. Since 2019, Rose has curated Guitar Kingdom, ‘where cult guitarists descend for some gentle shredding on the fine stringbox’. Guitar Kingdom is about bringing the concert experience to a grungy bar setting, heralding the intimacy and popular roots of the guitar's nomadic history. With four shows a year, Guitar Kingdom has drawn a steady following of live music lovers in Melbourne's inner north.   

Rose's debut album 'Reach Down Low' was released in September 2025. You can listen and purchase this album via Bandcamp here. With eight original songs, this recording also features top instrumentalists of Melbourne's music scene. Through this debut, Rose cements her unique talents not only as a guitarist-composer, but also as arranger, collaborator, improvisor and singer to boot.   

Rose also forms part of the highly-acclaimed Melbourne Guitar Quartet. Formed in 2005, the MGQ is a vibrant guitar based ensemble dedicated to the development of chamber music repertoire for the instrument. Utilising the unique concept of the Guitar Family of instruments (classical bass guitar, baritone guitar, standard guitar, treble guitar and octave guitar), the award-winning MGQ continuously cultivate ground-breaking arrangements of major works for this idiom. Rose completed her Masters in Music Performance in 2018 at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Rose is based in Naarm, Australia. Aside from producing her own shows and projects, Rose is available for various events with a repertoire of 'easy listening' music that would suit.

A finger-style guitarist, Rose Marie Gonzalez has spent the past few years composing original music to release as her debut album in 2025. Under the mentorship of internationally renowned musicians (Jovino Santos Neto and Mariana Zwarg), Rose has drawn on influences from classical, Latin jazz, and experimental styles to consolidate her unique voice as a composer. The resultant body of work has the raw sound of a debut, while also showcasing Rose’s diverse music influences, virtuosic guitar technique, and genre versatility as it traverses Latin instrumental music to folk and popular music.

For her debut album, Rose counts on the incredible musicianship and artistry of violinist Rose Kavanagh, double-bassist Jordan Tarento, and vocalist Stephanie Clare-Cover to bring the music to life.
